Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows � Part 2 is a 2011 epic fantasy film directed by David Yates and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.[4] It is the second of two cinematic parts based on the novel Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling.[5] The film, which is the eighth and final instalment in the Harry Potter film series, was written by Steve Kloves and produced by David Heyman, David Barron, and Rowling. The story continues to follow Harry Potter's quest to find and destroy Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes.

The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry's best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Principal photography began on 19 February 2009, and was completed on 12 June 2010,[6] with reshoots taking place in December 2010, more than ten years after filming started on the first instalment of the series. Part 2 was released in 2D, 3-D and IMAX cinemas worldwide from 13�15 July 2011, and is the only Harry Potter film to be released in 3-D.[7]

The film became a financial success and was one of the best-reviewed films of 2011.[8][9][10] At the box office, Part 2 claimed the worldwide opening weekend record, earning $483.2 million, as well as setting opening day and opening weekend records in various countries. As of 2015, the film is the fifth highest grossing film of all time.[11] It became the highest-grossing film of 2011, the highest grossing film in the Harry Potter series, and the ninth film to gross over $1 billion.[12]

The Blu-ray and DVD sets were released on 11 November 2011 in the United States[13] and on 2 December 2011 in the United Kingdom.[14] The film was also released in the Harry Potter: Complete 8-Film Collection box set on DVD and Blu-ray, which included all eight films and new special features. Part 1 and Part 2 were released as a combo pack on DVD and Blu-ray on 11 November 2011 in Canada.

The Maze Runner was released on September 19, 2014 in the United States by 20th Century Fox. The film received mainly favorable critical reviews, with praise aimed at the cast's performances as well as the film's intriguing premise and refreshingly dark tone, and even considered the film better than most young adult book-to-film adaptations, though the ending and the lack of plot clarity received some criticism. The film was also a commercial success, as it topped the box-office during its opening weekend with a $32.5 million debut, making it the seventh-highest grossing debut in September. Since its release, the film has grossed over $340 million worldwide against its budget of $34 million.
